I have Windows 2008 standard edition SP2 and SQL 2008 SP1. SQL 2008 reporting
and Analysis options are also installed. Windows 2008 server has App and Web
server role. When I try to install Operations Manager 2007 SP1 it fails on
prereqs. I get 1 error and 1 warning and I could not figure out whatI am
missing.:

1. Error says: Prerequisite Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 is NOT
installed. ( But I have SQL 2008 installed. MS Technet site confirms SQL 2008
configuration with Operations manager 2007 SP1). This error shows up for
Operational Database component check.

2. Warning: Verifiy if software Update specified by KB918222 for SQL 2005 is
installed. (again, I do not have SQL 2005). Warning shows up for Reporting
comonent check.

I will really appreciate if anyone can guide me to resolve this issue.

Many thanks,

I have the exact same problem as Jamil. It is as if the Prerequisite checker
does not check for newer versions of SQL server. Is it possible to bypass the
Prerequisite check?

We had the same problem, to get around it we ended up upgrading to SCOM 2007
R2. Everything worked fine after that. To the best of my knowledge there is
no way around the prerequisite checker
